Obama Gives Elena Kagan Supreme Court Nod

President Obama named Solicitor General Elena Kagan as his second nominee to The Supreme Court this week.  While the pick may not have shifted the ideological balance of the Court, it represents one of the major undertakings of a presidency.

Washington Post to Sell Newsweek

The Washington Post Co. announced this week that it would sell the highly influential but financially suffering Newsweek, despite the fact that the company overall still makes a profit.  Shudders reverberated through the media industry in the wake of the weekly publication’s announcement.  While most people touted the magazine’s reputation, media critics remain skeptical whether or not it will find a buyer. full story…
