Obama Gives Elena Kagan Supreme Court Nod

President Obama named Solicitor General Elena Kagan as his second nominee to The Supreme Court this week.  While the pick may not have shifted the ideological balance of the Court, it represents one of the major undertakings of a presidency.

Another Bomb Square in NYC

Police suspected a suspicious car in Union Square contained bomb materials when they responded to a report on Friday morning, but determined that the vehicle belonged to a gardener at a nearby concert.  The incident joins a list of bomb scares that have jolted New York since the failed Times Square bombing and comes a few hours after police arrested a possible accomplice to Faisal Shazad in Pakistan.
